Hey, it is good that Heath is going to "The Dance"!! I think that the coalfield should do a story on him. The Jones boys get a lot more press than Heath or for that matter; Witten from Elizabethton.
let me introduce you to a success story in the major world of sports. His name is Heath Miller and he is a tight end for the superbowl bound Steelers. Guess what ! He is from this area. He is considered a local guy by most all standards.
I saw where there were 2 stories about non-local athletics in the front page in the Sports Shorts today.
It would have been nice to see a little snippit about a "local" guy going the the "Big Dance".
Maybe you have a indepth story coming up within the next two weeks. I hope so. It would be nice to see him get a little press here at "home"

Not that sure about this area and Witten. But Miller is a former Region D stand out. You would think a little coverage would be possible since he is on a team headed to the Superbowl.
they just put who they want they probably don't know who he is

IMO he should get more attention, going to the super bowl in his rookie/sophmore(?) season.

Well, since Honaker is not in the coverage area of the Coalfield Progress, you should probably address your request to the Bristol Herald Courier.
Last time I checked Honaker was in the Coalfields hence the name of the paper. The papers raved about Compton from Richlands not that I am saying they shouldn't had but Heath deserves some credit he was probably the best all around athlete to ever play in Region D. He was one of the best ever in football and baseball and was as good as Knuckles (not shooting wise) in basketball.
Go Huskers!
Where can you buy the Coalfield Progress in Honaker?
My point exactly. It is just like the Dickenson Star it covers more Wise Co. than Haysi or Ervinton although it is getting better lately. It's sports section is really the Clintwood (LPD) Star, not that I'm dissing either.
